Plage des Demoiselles in Saint Hilaire de Riez
This campsite is located in the town of Saint Jean de La plage des Demoiselles is situated on the esplanade de la Mer in Saint Hilaire de Riez, very close to the town of Saint-Jean-de-Monts. This beach, which alternates between the urban side and the wild side at the edge of town, is probably one of the most visited in the Vendée, thanks to its many activities, its proximity to the town center, its large bicycle path, its nautical center and its many facilities for parking on the seafront. Supervised in high season, the vast Plage des Demoiselles is ideal for family get-togethers on the Atlantic coast.
Plage des 60 Bornes in St Hilaire
Under the watchful eye of a lifeguard in July and August, Plage des 60 Bornes is a fine sandy beach much appreciated by locals and holidaymakers alike. This wild beach on the outskirts of St Hilaire offers a vast stretch of sand bordered by large, protected dunes. Access to the beach is a little far from the parking lot, which explains why it is less crowded than other beaches along the coast during the high season.
Salins Beach
The plage des salins in St Hilaire is a wild beach dedicated to naturists. Its access is more difficult than the others, as you have to cross a dune to reach it. From the parking lot, it’s at least a 5-minute walk to the ocean!
Plage des Becs
Plage des Becs is located just beside Plage des Salins, south of St Hilaire de Riez. Surrounded by a few residences, the beach is equipped with a first-aid post in summer, making it a popular family destination. If you walk to the north of the beach, you’ll reach a wilder environment. This beach is very popular in summer, not least because of the many campsites in the vicinity.
Plage des Mouettes in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez
Surrounded by numerous holiday homes and campsites, Plage des Mouettes is one of the busiest beaches on the St Hilaire coast. Its greatest asset is probably its proximity to numerous shops, while preserving its unspoilt environment. Note that the beach is equipped for all mobility-impaired persons and that a first-aid post is active in summer.
La Pège beach
Between Sion sur l’Océan and Saint Hilaire de Riez, you’ll find Plage de la Pège, a large sandy beach that’s very popular in summer. Behind the dunes, a large free parking lot awaits you for a pleasant stay on the warm Vendée sands. Also note that this beach accepts pets from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Riez Beach
Located on the road to St Jean de Monts, the dune-lined beach of Riez lies in the forest of the Pays de Monts. Its exceptional setting, coupled with the proximity of a large campsite, explains why it is so popular in summer. You can still reach the north of the beach to find more peace and quiet, thanks to a number of footpaths.
Cinq Pineaux Beach
The 5 pineaux de St Hilaire beach is nestled in the middle of Sion sur l’Océan and St Gilles Croix de Vie. The beach stretches for around 150 meters and is located between the rocks of the Corniche; it’s also a popular spot for shore fishing.
